Adored by his community, Tim Bone is a Ballarat-based chef who rose to fame in 2019 during his stint on MasterChef Australia. As a series semi-finalist, he allured fans with his flair for food, and his personable, humorous, and down-to-earth personality.
Inspired by cult foodie favourites Jamie Oliver, Stephanie Alexander, Maggie Beer and the late Anthony Bourdain, Tim’s fine fare is punctuated by bold, hearty flavours which combine to create a homely and honest dining experience. His food is known to pack a whole lotta punch while reflecting his inherent passion and humility.
Hailing from rural Victoria, Tim moved to Ballarat in 2005 where he studied at FedUni. From there, he started working with vulnerable children at Yuille Park Community College before taking on the role of co-ordinator at the school’s Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and community cafe. It was these positions that empowered Tim to expand his culinary knowledge while enriching the lives of young ones and the community around him.
In 2019, he took the leap and stepped foot into the MasterChef kitchen where he harnessed the support, confidence and artistry needed to spearhead his own food career.
With a newfound confidence and a pep in his step, Tim quit his day job and launched his gourmet, gooey and glorious toasted sandwich venture – Tim’s Toasties! Since then, his highly-coveted business has attracted droves of foodies in search of an enticing culinary experience.
Loving Husband to Abbey and devoted father to Toby, Tim hopes his craft brings warmth and joy to his loved ones and the entire community. Honest, kind, and entertaining, his passionate demeanor exudes through each and every one of his creations.
